Darjeeling Afternoon Tea Bags – Muscatel & Floral Elegance 🍇🌸
Darjeeling tea, often called the "Champagne of Teas", is revered worldwide as the finest black tea. At Sancha, our Master Tea Taster has hand-selected the most exquisite leaves to create a refreshing afternoon tea in 100% biodegradable pyramid tea bags — made from corn fibre with no microplastics.
This carefully curated selection carries Darjeeling's rare muscatel flavour, reminiscent of sweet muscat grapes, beautifully balanced with fresh floral notes. Smooth, aromatic, and elegant, it's the perfect cup to lift your afternoons.
✨ Certification: Tea Board of India Certified ✨ Origin: India 🇮🇳 (Darjeeling Hills) ✨ Caffeine Level: Medium ✨ Packaging: Double-lid tin caddies preserve freshness, aroma & flavour
🌿 Why This Tea? Darjeeling's title as the Champagne of Teas is not marketing — it is a geographical designation as protected and as meaningful as its French counterpart, awarded only to teas grown within the specific microclimates of the Darjeeling Hills where altitude, mist, and mineral-rich soil combine to produce the rarest and most complex black tea character in the world. The muscatel flavour that defines great Darjeeling — that extraordinary sweet, grape-like note that emerges from the leaf during a precise moment of processing — cannot be cultivated, engineered, or replicated outside this specific terrain. Sancha's Master Tea Taster has hand-selected only the finest lots carrying that genuine muscatel character, certified by the Tea Board of India, and packed in biodegradable corn-fibre pyramid bags that honour the quality of what they contain with packaging of equal environmental integrity. This is Darjeeling as it was always meant to be experienced — authentic, rare, and completely uncompromised.
👤 Who Is It For? This blend is for the black tea connoisseur who understands that Darjeeling occupies a category of refinement that no other black tea can touch — and who wants that exceptional character available in the convenience of a pyramid tea bag without any sacrifice of quality or authenticity. It's for the afternoon tea devotee who believes that the three o'clock cup deserves something genuinely special — not a standard breakfast blend but a tea of real provenance, character, and elegance that makes the afternoon break feel like a proper occasion. It's for the gift-giver who wants to present something with a prestigious Indian certification and genuine terroir behind it, and for anyone who has ever tasted real Darjeeling muscatel and understood immediately why it has been called the world's finest black tea for over a century.
🕘 When to Drink It? Darjeeling Afternoon Tea is named for its moment — and that moment is the afternoon, specifically the window between 2pm and 5pm when the classic British afternoon tea tradition was built around exactly this style of cup. Its medium caffeine provides a genuine, sustained lift through the remaining hours of the working day without the overstimulation of a morning breakfast blend, and its muscatel and floral character makes the afternoon break feel like a proper, considered ritual rather than a functional caffeine fix. It is the perfect accompaniment to afternoon tea with something light to eat — finger sandwiches, scones, or simply a quiet biscuit — where the muscatel's natural sweetness and the floral notes' elegance create a pairing as classically considered as anything the tea table has ever offered. For the purist, brew it in a proper teapot at 95°C for 3 minutes, pour it through a strainer into a fine cup, and drink it with a small amount of milk if desired — though the muscatel character is most fully appreciated plain, without anything to soften or obscure its extraordinary, grape-sweet Himalayan character.
